real-U … Skincare Magic

I’ve been on a real skincare bender for the last couple of months. A huge makeup lover, I’ve gone through life with the luck of good skin genes, never giving much thought to skincare and instead investing hundreds and thousands into makeup. But lately I’ve been playing catchup with my beauty routine.

I consider my skin to be mature (don’t ask a lady about her age lol). It’s combination with an oily T zone, and has started to feel very dehydrated of late. I’ve been also getting a lot of hormonal breakouts on my chin and generally feel very bumpy/textured, especially on my forehead.

I’ve tried several products, drugstore and high end,  but none successfully managed my breakouts.

Then I’ve come across real-U skincare and was very grateful to receive their 3 step pack to try.

The real-U skincare range was developed by Ebony. She is an Australian skin care professional with over 20 years experience and has dedicated her career to developing a skincare range that specifically targets oily, acne prone skin. Her revolutionary formula is gentle yet extremely effective. Ebony plays a very active role in her company and is extremely approachable and helpful, should you require more guidance.

The real-U formula is hypo-allergenic and works with your skin to help prevent and heal breakouts and help reduce the oils on your skin. The unique approach doesn’t use any of the nasty chemicals we usually associate with acne medication (Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid), which strip your skin off natural oils. This  in fact has a counter productive effect, with the skin feeling dehydrated and producing more oil.

The real- U products are gentle, non toxic, non stripping, are vegan and cruelty free.

And here are my experiences:

Step 1: real-u CLEANSE Gentle Foaming Wash $20

Only a small, pea size amount is needed. The wash feels very creamy and thick in consistency. It doesn’t foam excessively, which I liked. Afterwards my skin felt very clean, but not tight and red as it usually would.

The wash contains soothing aloe vera, which  leaves your skin feeling clean, nourished and revitalised, and it’s pH balanced.

 Step 2: Control Serum $40

Applied after cleansing. A light, creamy formula. Absorbs immediately and doesn’t leave any residue.
This is the magic potion that clears and prevents breakouts while rebuilding your skins health. It doesn’t contain any Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid but is loaded with Lactic Acid. Lactic Acid is a AHA (like the more popular glycolic acid) and is a gentle natural exfoliator. It also hydrates and brightens skin.

Also available in Control + formulation, which is great for more problematic skin.

Step 3: real-u HYDRATE Lite Moisturiser $25

A light, non greasy lotion that is very easily absorbed into the skin. It doesn’t leave an oily residue and leaves skin very smooth and hydrated. This is the first moisturiser that I used confidently, without it causing an oil slick at the end of the day.

It is packed with anti-oxidants, which is great for my ageing skin and contains castor oil, which has great healing properties.

Final Result: WOW!

For the fist time in years  I have not developed my monthly breakouts. My skin feels smoother, most bumps have disappeared. It is also hydrated and my oily T zone seems to have balanced out. This month I have finally tried a dewy foundation again and it lasted all day without getting shiny and gross by the end of the day.

Before and After 1 month of use.

Congratulations Ebony on such a great product. I highly recommend it to any age group with an unbalanced skin.

You can get sample packs from real-U to prove it to yourself!
